Hi again everyone! We’re back with more updates to Square Online and are excited to share them with you! Check out the latest new features and updates below.
Self-serve ordering updates
We’ve added new capabilities to give you more control over the QR code-powered self-serve ordering experience. You can now set a service fee and customize the message on your ordering instructions.
Set service fee
You’re now able to collect a service fee for self-serve orders. You can specify a flat fee or charge a percentage of the order total. If set to a percentage, it will be calculated based on the order total before coupons, taxes, or other fees.
Custom self-serve ordering instructions
To help you further personalize the experience and give clear instructions to your customers, we’ve made it so you can edit the banner message shown to them at the top of the online ordering menu when they scan your QR code to place an order. You can display a second custom message after they submit their order to give them further instructions.
Head to your Self-serve ordering settings to set a service fee or to customize your ordering instructions.
Site editor updates
We’re continuing to refine and enhance the site editor to simplify and speed up the design process. You can now preview section layouts and apply brand colour profiles with one click.
Preview layouts
When adding a new section to a page on your site, you can now click through each of the layout options after selecting Add Section. Your page on the right will populate with each layout as you click through them. Once you decide on a look that you like, simply click the Add button at the top to make it official.
Colour profiles
We've added new colour options to sections to make it quicker and easier for you to apply your brand colours to your site. Monochrome, minimalist and bold colour scheme presets based on your brand colours can be assigned to backgrounds, titles, text, and buttons with a single click. When you add a new section or edit an existing one, you’ll see the new 1-click colour palette options on the left.
Head to the site editor to update your look.
