Are birthdays automatically added to customer directory?

We're interested in the birthday marketing email however I was wondering how it works? For example, if a contact responds to the marketing email, does their response get sent directly to us or to Square? If it does get sent to Square, is it automatically added to the customer's information in the directory? Or is it up to us to add the birthdays after we receive the responses?

Great questions — thanks for bringing these up. With Square Marketing, you can use the Birthday Campaigns option to send out an emailed request for your customers to add their birthdays. Learn more about other campaign options in our Support Center: Using Automated Campaigns. Alternatively, you can add a customer's birthday manually from the app or your online Square Dashboard.

 

If a customer replies to a Square Marketing email, their message goes directly to your Square account. You'll be able to view and respond to your customer's messages from your online Square Dashboard in the Feedback tab. You will also see if a customer replied to a Square Marketing email in the Directory tab, Activity section — though the quickest way to view all replies is from the Feedback tab.
