📰 Article Roundup: Leadership

Hi all, it's time for another Article Roundup - where we put together a collection of articles for you to check out. This time we're focusing on leadership. What does it mean to be a good leader? Is it something you can learn, and how? These articles are a good start, but if you have other resources to share, let us know!

How to Be An Inspiring Leader - Interesting study about what makes a leader inspirational - including setting an example of the behavior you want to see from employees and empowering individuals to do their jobs rather than trying to control their work.

10 Leadership Skills Vital to Restaurant Success - For the restaurant owners out there - you probably already do these things, but why not double check?

Life’s Work: An Interview with Alice Waters - This one’s for the foodies out there! Check out this interview with Alice Waters, who led the movement toward sustainably sourced food 🍎  and is now an activist. A look at what it’s like to unexpectedly become a leader in your field.

How great leaders inspire action - Ok, this one isn’t an article - it’s a really good Tedx talk from Simon Sinek. He’s an ethnographer and author of Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action. Highly recommend this 18-minute talk about what he calls “a naturally occurring pattern, grounded in the biology of human decision making, that explains why we are inspired by some people, leaders, messages and organizations over others."

What do you do to make sure you're a good leader, and to encourage your employees to lead by example?
