I'm looking to buy one of the Epson compatible receipt printer models for my ipad. I realize it needs to be a bluetooth printer because there is no usb on an ipad. I am curious however, if I could get a usb receipt printer, and then get a bluetooth adaptor and plug it into the receipt printer, will it then work as a bluetooth printer would? There is about a $150 price different between the usb printers and the bluetooth ones, so I'm hoping to save some money if it can be done this way.
If that isn't possible. Would I be able to use a USB to lightning adaptor to plug the receipt printer directly into the ipad? Would it work?
Thanks!

Both solutions may work, but your biggest problem is that Square won't support that setup if you run into difficulties. If you're willing to take that leap then I'd recommend going the usb to bluetooth way. From what I've heard, lightning port to usb isn't really good for much besides screen mirroring.
