Block Clients

We really need the ability to block certain clients from scheduling.  No just declining them. There are those finding ways around the decline by utilizing another email address etc. Thank you

Re: Block Clients

This forum doesn't seem to work getting this feature to the proper channels. It for the customer to feel like they are getting some where but they are not. Maybe start to go to twitter and call them out because at this point Square has shown that they are NOT for solo practitioners and their safety! It has been YEARS of this now. YEARS!!! 35 pages of this request up to this point.  Look into GlossGenius for booking if you are a esthetician or massage therapist.

Re: Block Clients

Agreed! This has been one of the features missing. I used to use an online booking system that allowed you to toggle or “turn off” booking ability for that client specifically. I typically don’t have an issue with clients booking online but when they are not a fit with my business anymore and can’t respect my time, it’s necessary. This is a feature that is needed, regardless of no show protection being in place.

Re: Block Clients - Status changed to: Has Product Insight

Hi all 👋 Apologies for the delayed response here but I have returned with some insight from the Square Appointments Product Team! I'll share what they've told me below:

"We don’t have a specific feature for this yet but it’s on our roadmap this year. H
owever, many of our Appointments Sellers are already enrolled in Risk Manager, and can use the Risk Manager’s “Block payment cards” feature to block buyers from booking if the Seller has prepayment or no-show turned on. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to block clients from booking if the Seller doesn’t use prepayment or no-show, but this is on our radar for this year."

To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators. In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates, here, in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

Re: Appointments feature request: Block Clients

Hi @mikethebarber

Nothing new to report on this at the moment, but it seems to be gaining more interest lately so hopefully we can figure out a way to help with situations like this.

One workaround that you can use would be to switch the Reservation Guarantee in your Appointments Settings to "Business must accept or decline all appointment requests".

This allows you to have more control over who actually books up time slots on your calendar.

Re: Appointments feature request: Block Clients

Hey there @UrbanShaveSD

Thanks for sharing this feedback. I can totally see where this feature would be useful for difficult clients and I'll share your feedback with the Appointments team. I've moved this to the Feature Request board where we can track this request.

Hi @PaddyKuhn - This is currently still a feature request. I don't have an ETA on if or when this feature might be implemented, but we will update this thread if that changes at any point.

I just got a notification that a customer disputed a sale AND IS BEING REFUNDED THE FULL AMOUNT!  I did not dip (chip read), but swipped with a signature.  My fault, I guess.  But this person is getting to legally steal with loop holes in the system.  some banks/credit card providers are allowing this because the payment collected wasn't in compliance with their security guidelines.  So they suggest I contact the individual directly, however, personal information can not be disclosed due to federal privacy regulations.  So I'm suck with no money and no product.  Yes I will be using a chip reader from now on, but would really like to be given an option to block this person from doing credit card transactions in the future.  Square, please make this possible soon!  Thanks.

ummm we are fairly certain the folks wom work for square and design its programing should be capable of figuring it out and implementing it. Jumping Jeebus.

Hi, I have a habitual no show cliemt that I also would like to blacklist. She booked her appt online with a fake card number, 4111 1111 1111 1111. How did Square let her book with that? I have a no show cancellation policy with cc required to book. I'm left without a way to charge for the no show. Angry!

@InfiniteExpress I'm very sorry for the frustration this has caused.

A valid card number is required to book an appointment with no show protection. Customers cannot use a fake card number to make a booking, the card is authorized by Square at the time of booking to make sure it's an active card.

So we can investigate this further it would be great if you could give us a call - an Appointments specialist will be able to take a clsoer look.

In the meantime, another workaround is to update your settings so that you review each appointment before accepting it. To enable this sign in to your Appointments Dashboard > click Settings > select Business must accept or decline all appointment requests.

The problem is that these bookings tie up your calendar. I'd much rather schedule an appointment who actually wants my service rather than charge someone as a no show and then potentially have to hassle with them over the no show charge.  We really need to be able to block individuals by email address or phone number.

Is there any progress on this ?   Are we going to have this feature sometime or Square is not planning to add this ?

This reply created from merging an existing thread: "How can i blacklist a client?" The author has been notified via email.

Need to remove a client from booking? Policy has been used to full extent,  this should be an option.

This is more than just no shows, we at times are talking safety and I've dealt with the verbally abusive client that ignores all attempts to fire her. Declining appointments from the same jerk over and over doesn't help us, people can be crazy.

@Contrastpgh

This is a request we've seen a lot so, I've moved your post to a thread where others have discussed this as a Feature Request.

Updates will be posted in this thread as they are launched for blocking specific customers, and we'll update if we find out work around solutions for you.
