Block Clients

We really need the ability to block certain clients from scheduling.  No just declining them. There are those finding ways around the decline by utilizing another email address etc. Thank you

This forum doesn't seem to work getting this feature to the proper channels. It for the customer to feel like they are getting some where but they are not. Maybe start to go to twitter and call them out because at this point Square has shown that they are NOT for solo practitioners and their safety! It has been YEARS of this now. YEARS!!! 35 pages of this request up to this point.  Look into GlossGenius for booking if you are a esthetician or massage therapist.

Agreed! This has been one of the features missing. I used to use an online booking system that allowed you to toggle or “turn off” booking ability for that client specifically. I typically don’t have an issue with clients booking online but when they are not a fit with my business anymore and can’t respect my time, it’s necessary. This is a feature that is needed, regardless of no show protection being in place.

Hi all 👋 Apologies for the delayed response here but I have returned with some insight from the Square Appointments Product Team! I'll share what they've told me below:

"We don’t have a specific feature for this yet but it’s on our roadmap this year. H
owever, many of our Appointments Sellers are already enrolled in Risk Manager, and can use the Risk Manager’s “Block payment cards” feature to block buyers from booking if the Seller has prepayment or no-show turned on. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to block clients from booking if the Seller doesn’t use prepayment or no-show, but this is on our radar for this year."

Nothing new to report on this at the moment, but it seems to be gaining more interest lately so hopefully we can figure out a way to help with situations like this. 

 

One workaround that you can use would be to switch the Reservation Guarantee in your Appointments Settings to "Business must accept or decline all appointment requests". 

 

This allows you to have more control over who actually books up time slots on your calendar.

When will Block customer feature be available ?  Stripe has this feature for free long time ago

This would be super helpful. The suggestion of confirming each appointment is not useful, not to mention outdated. I wouldn’t think this feature would be such a big deal. 

I agree, I have 3 people who I don't want to have access to my schedule.  These 3 people are basically keeping me from blasting out on social media that I offer online booking. Blocking them would be fantastic!!

I’d really like to be able to block a client also 

or make particular clients appointments on an approval basis only 

I have clients who book appointments and are no-show for several appointments.

We have a No-Show fee that can be charged to the clients credit card but some people have ways to get around this feature as well.  (They can use debit cards with small amounts on the card and we are not able to charge the fee)  I would like to block these clients from being able to schedule online.   Is this possible?

Is there any progress on being able to block certain clients from scheduling appts online? I dont want to take my whole schedule offline because of a couple of unruly people

It seems like this has been an issue for a long time and I too came to the Community today to see if there was a way to block a specific client after he just left and was completely inappropriate. Accepting/Declining appt requests or requiring a credit card are not appropriate solutions to this issue. Square needs to establish a mechanism where specific clients can be blocked based on their phone number and/or email address from booking a future appointment at our establishment.

 

This is a safety issue as well as a fiscal impact issue. Is there a way to escalate this issue since there have been so many Square customers requesting this feature since 2017?

Please add blacklisting! I own a massage business and it would be SO beneficial to have this feature! Please add this! This forum has been going since 2017! I am shocked that its still not a feature.

Same. This really needs to be added so I can make sure she can't book until she pays for the no showed appointment. Card was declined and I don't want her to book again until paid.
