Square wireless reader cradle lacks pass thru for the bluetooth connection button

Square wireless reader works great with my iPhone 7+.  I purchased the cradle but when the device is in the cradle, I don't have access to the Bluetooth connection button.   There is no pass-thru button on the cradle.

This looks like a design flaw in the cradle.  The cradle has two parts that lock the device in place and is designed to hold the device permanently, not take it in and out regularly like an iPhone cradle.

What am I overlooking?  Is it a design flaw?  Can we get feedback to the designers?  Should I return the cradle?

Thank you.

The cradle is designed to be plugged in all the time.  Once paired there is rarely a need to push the button.  I have had ours in the stand for 4 months and haven't had to take it out.  I don't know the direction of the cable, but you may be able to drill a hole in the stand and us a paper clip to push the button.  Try at your own risk.
