At this time Square requires a transactional bank account or a Square Banking account. This is to be able to perform refunds, transfers and to cover in the case of any dispute or chargeback.

For Square Register use/credit card processing:

Square requires a transactional bank account that allows for deposits and withdrawals (in case of refunds or chargebacks). Prepaid cards or online-only accounts, like PayPal, aren’t supported.

Hi @redhotchilimoma — It looks like another seller had the same question, and received an answer. Check out the reply above.

Do you have an account at a physical bank? That's really what you need. If you do, have you spoken to the bank? An average bank with a regular checking account shouldn't have a problem.
