payroll tax exemption

If you hire your children, they are exempt from payroll tax. How can I select that option in square?

Hey @ke2!

Do you know if you would be filing a Form 941 or Form 944 if you hired your children?

I am having this issue as well. It appears there is no way to go in and select which exemptions you can choose, Square payroll considers every employee the same.

I have 2 of my children working for me. One under 18, and the other over 18.

I'm not required to take out SS, Medicare, or unemployment from the one under 18.

I'm required to take out SS and Medicare, but not unemployment from the one over 18.

I'm required to take out all of the above for my other employees.

There is NO way to handle this with Square Payroll. I have just spent a good deal of time on the phone with them trying to get this figured out....after doing all the importing of payroll info from my previous payroll system and linking my bank accounts, etc, etc.

Been a headache to say the least.
