Record open ticket transactions to daily sales

Is there a way to record the transactions added to an open order ticket towards the daily sales? Ideally I can view the daily report and it includes the transactions made on the open tickets (even though they won't be settled till later).

Our open order tickets are only settled once per month and so the transactions during the month aren't reflected for each respective day's sales and the day the open tickets are settled there is a large jump in sales for that day as a result.

If there was a report or a way to get a truer reflection of each day's totals transactions in sales that would be great.

Hey @kahii364,

Thanks for getting in touch!

At the moment we won't display any open tickets you have as sales for that day unless the ticket is closed and paid for - primarily because a payment has not yet been made, you've not actually received those funds into your Square account yet so we don't count it as a sale!

Generally speaking, we don't actually recommend using open tickets as a form of keeping a tab for customers - this feature is designed to be used in a dining situation where items are added over the course of a single session, then the ticket is closed off at the end of the session before you close. Using Open Tickets as an extended tab keeping function can actually cause issues with the app - the more you add to open tickets, the more memory it will use and you may find the app will become slow or unstable. For keeping tabs for customers we recommend doing so outside of Square, keep that in mind in case you start seeing any issues with the app!
