This card cannot be used for this contactless transaction

Hi, just setup my square contactless reader. The bank account has been setup for days. I tried d king a trial $1 transaction and got back a message in the Square app saying - 

"This card cannot be used for this contactless transaction. Please try a different card now."

Device - Samsung Note 9

Square model - S8

Tried with a eftpos card and a credit card with same results for both.

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having trouble with contactless cards.

While we're not able to look into account-specific info via our seller community forum, I recommend calling our support team on 1800 760 137 to discuss this further.

One possibility is that some cards (often corporate cards) are set to accept payments from certain merchant types. For instance, a company may issue their staff with credit cards that can only be used for food or accomodation, so if they try to say, purchase something from a retail outlet it may not work. Not sure if this is what happened in your circumstance, but it's one possible explanation!
