How can i send an Invoice for $0

I use invoices to keep track of whos is on what trip. I give trips to charities to auction so invoices for these customers are 0 but they need the information on the invoice and I need the invoice to record who's on each trip. How can I send and invoice for $0?

And I want to apologize if my previous post came off as flippant - that was not my intention. I want you to know that I hear you, and understand that this is a prolonged issue that affects your business. A solution for one seller can be far from the same for another. Each scenario is unique, and we will try as hard as we can to find a tailored solution to every respective situation.

 

I do appreciate you giving those suggestions a try. After reading your comments, I agree that they seem to just cause new problems for your setup. I'm afraid we will have to continue to make noise to our Product Team and push for a more solidified resolution for $0 Invoices.

 

I will be sure to post in this thread with any updates along the way. Once again, I appreciate you hanging tough. Your feedback goes a long way in making our product better.

we (your *paying customers*) have been requesting this feature since AT LEAST 05-2016. for *your paying customers* to have to wait almost 4 YEARS with absolutely no implementation or viable workaround is ridiculous. we are TIRED of your lip-service and need this to actually be REMEDIED asap. who do we need to get ahold of to actually get this FIXED?

 

you guys aren't just a payment processing service - you are also our point of sale software and your PAYING CUSTOMERS have an actual NEED for this. PLEASE fix this already.

@Joe we too have just about quit using Square due to the lack of this ability. Our customers pre-pay for services and we need to be able to leave them an electronic door hanger or invoice for $0 to show we were there along with any notes or details for that visit. We have now reached out to other software developers to find solutions that can offer this as well inventory, invoicing, estimates and payments like Square. We don’t want to stop using Square but are forced to just over this one tiny thing holding us back big time. Help!

@Joe I'm doing free services due to COVID, but want to send invoices for both my clients' and my records. You've continually told us you are "making noise" and "talking to the product team," but you haven't given us customers an idea of why this is such an issue for them. Why can't they just remove the restriction? Is it on your backend? Is it a processing issue? If not, what's the holdup?

@Joe  I think at least 4 years is more than acceptable for your customers who have been requesting this feature to not have to wait for it. I have seen so many useless features get added in over the years and this one is absolutely necessary for people to keep their inventory straight. WIhtout it, inventory tracking is useless and having to manually adjust inventory counts every time I do a giveaway or promo that results in a free item is timeconsuming. Not only is it timeconsuming but that leads to the next problem. We can't add our own reasons for inventory adjustments. I often have to change my inventory counts because of this problem but I have nothing to correctly identify why I changed the inventory. That requires a custom entry into the Inventory Adjustment reason field. These 2 features are vital for running smoothly. I would like an answer as to when this feature will be added in or if the intent is never to add it in.

@Joe I’m a new user & tried to do a $0 as I am sending my products to companies & influencers that I am planning to work with. Upon reading this, it seems that this feature has been requested before but still nothing has been done? 

 

Square, what you do you suggest for us to do in the meantime? I need a record of sending free products & manage correct inventory levels? Thanks in advance.
