Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

Please let me know if someone has had a better solution than this. Paper and pencil required. Here is example. If a random customer put money down on an item and pays the remaining balance at pickup. Ticket would be $147.15, tax included. She paid $100 cash. $47.15 would remain. Square does not help with this at all. I have to send a tax free invoice totaling $47.15, but of course that looks like I am charging $47.15 with no taxes on my sales report. Such a pain. If I knock off $100 prior to taxes, then customer would only be paying taxes on $35. I didn't think I would have to break out a Algebra book on a busy day. Arghh. Please set me up with the Beta.
