Cutoff time and more customizable hours for online orders?

Cutoff time and more customizable hours for online orders?

The title of this post has been edited from the original: I want to customize my hours so that we have a cutoff for placing orders and a delay for pickup

As the title suggests, we need custom hours like this:

Saturday through Monday accepting orders for pickup Wednesday 12:00 to 6:00 (Tuesday all day is for preparation and Wednesday morning is for baking, slicing, and packaging)

Tuesday through Thursday accepting orders for Saturday 12:00 to 6:00

This is for a sourdough bakery so the preparation, cooking, and packaging takes a day and half

Thanks so much for your help!

I thought the prep time only counts open days?  We are only open during the pickup time and delivery time on Monday and/or Tuesday.  So if I use 3 day prep time my understanding is it would kick it ahead a week.

Ahh, yes, you're right! You'll want to use 1 business day then so it just falls to the next day you are open.

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: Business days for prep time

My business uses the 'prep time' feature to give ourselves a three day lead on certain items. While the description states X number of business days, this does not account for days we are closed, Monday and Tuesday, meaning that an item ordered Sunday is available for Wednesday pickup, leaving our bakery without enough time to prep. Is there a way to adjust our business days or another workaround for this issue?

This is currently considered a feature request, @ndenietolis. Someone with a similar business model shared a workaround here within this thread where we're tracking interest in additional order customization features. I think it could work for you as well - I hope this helps!

I noticed your delivery times were not calculated relative to each other. The end range of the delivery estimate isn't calculated as the beginning range plus the delivery time but instead calculated independently. For example, this leads to delivery estimates that say ("some date next week" - tomorrow). This error in delivery estimate is due to the end time not being calculated based on the start time but completely separate from one another.

Hey @Katsu!

Welcome to the Seller Community 💫

Hmmm. Are you including your prep time in the delivery estimate?

Hi @isabelle

Yes, I have tried both scenarios where prep time is immediate and with prep time (1hour-1day)

Jumping in for @isabelle here, @Katsu!

Could you please confirm your current delivery time availability?
Square Online Dashboard > Settings > Pickup & Delivery > select location

I'd also be curious to know what kind of delivery window you currently have set.

Square Online Dashboard > Settings > Pickup & Delivery > select location > scroll to Delivery settings > click Delivery estimate

Last question - what would you like your customers to be presented with during the checkout process?

Hi @Valentina

The store hour is set to Sunday 10 AM-5 PM.

Our Delivery setting is set from 1hour-8hours.

Our goal with this setup is to receive orders from Monday-Saturday and deliver them on Sunday between the times of 11 AM-6 PM.

The issue occurs when people try to order on March 14, Sunday at 12PM. If we have "no prep time" set, Square informs the customers that the order will arrive between 1 PM - 8 PM, thus going out of our store hours and providing incorrect information (Same day delivery is not possible)

Using the same example as above, if we included 1 day "prep time" then the delivery estimates show an estimated delivery date of March 15, Monday 12PM - March 14, Sunday 8 PM.  This is where the logic error occurs as the two ranges are calculated separately

I want to add in that your website looks amazing! 🍞

If you do not want any deliveries to go out after 5:00 PM, then you will need to either adjust the delivery estimate or pull the 5:00 PM time back an hour. It sounds like you're looking for a "cutoff time" feature, which is not available at this time, @Katsu.

I've merged this thread in with an existing one where we have been tracking interest in this capability. We'll be sure to drop another update here when we have news about supporting this type of customization, so stay subscribed to receive a notification.
