Feature Request: Customer login or profile for Square Online website

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Customer login]

Im considering creating my online store with square.  My skincare company requires that the pricing not be shown publicly.  Is there a way to have a customer login before they shop?

I really like the square online shop but my customers are FRUSTRATED that they can't save a profile.  I drop highly desired items every few weeks.. traffic is high and customers want to avoid cart snagging by being able to save their profile for a faster checkout.  If this isn't gonna happen I'll have no choice but to move. 😕

Hey @suehoo!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

Customer logins/profiles is a feature request we've seen in the past, and have passed onto our Product Teams, as it seems like a lot of sellers would be interested in the development of this feature.

I went ahead and moved your post over to this existing thread, where I will post updates on this feature request as I receive them. Thanks for your patience and insight here!

I am needing a way to either hide or password protect a category on our square website. We are wanting to start wholesaling some of our products but don't want this packs open to our general customer. So we need those qualified to either come in through a specific link or have a password to enter this section of the site.

This is absolutely possible, so long as you're using the Professional plan or a higher plan. I've moved your post over to this thread where @mattd linked the article from our Support Center you'll want to peek at for more information. I hope this helps, @barntiquecreati 🙌

Hey, I just wanted to chime in here: we just switched our site over to Square a couple weeks ago and I've already heard from dozens of customers that they rely on having access to their order history, being able to save a cart and access it from different devices, etc. This seems like a pretty crucial functionality to be missing, most customers are familiar with it in almost every other online-shopping scenario. It also seems especially strange, since we do already use customer accounts and loyalty through Square--but customers can't see their own information??

We switched our website from WooCommerce to Weebly in 2019 thinking that the integration of our Square Retail POS would play well all under the same company.

I can't believe that the very basic eCommerce function for online customers to be able to login and see their current & past orders is still unavailable and doesn't seem to be a priority.

The lack of this feature feels like a dealbreaker to me for any company serious about eCommerce.

Are there other Square Sellers utilizing Shopify or BigCommerce to drive eCommerce?

Thanks for joining Seller Community and for voicing your support for this, @blendily.

I agree with you that having customer accounts would be a super-useful feature to have for both your customers and you as the store owner. I'm merging your post into a feature request thread, that way if anything changes with this it will be easier for your to get notified.

Hey there, I have been using Square since November 2019, and have asked for this feature repeatedly to deaf ears. I am currently looking at migrating to Shopify because the scalable eCommerce functionality is much more robust.

Any company serious about eCommerce needs to have login capability on their website.

It's lame that prior to the acquisition Weebly themes DID have this functionality, but the Square development team just can't get it together.

How can I set up a wholesale page with my existing website, for wholesale prices? I would like my customers to login with a unique password to view prices separate from retail prices
