Feature Request: Support selecting the same modifier more than once

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Can I select the same modifier more than once?
 
Is there a way to select 1 modifier twice? For example, I have an item named '3 TACOS', once the item has been selected on the app, the cashier can choose the meats as modifiers: steak, fish, tofu, etc. However, sometimes guests want 2 steak and 1 fish for example. How can I make this happen?

Any updates on this feature yet?  Our Bakery is in desperate need of this for our bundle boxes.   This request has been in looks like since 2018 and there appears to be LOTS of businesses in need of this.   Please request that this is increased in priority and urgency.  Right now the "workarounds" are extremely time consuming and counter productive.   This needs to be a solution to work for both the POS orders and Online.     

 

If it helps the product team,  The way that UberEats handles is great.   1. You select from existing ITEMs as the entries for multiplier sets (instead of manually keying them in).   2. You can still adjust the cost per multiplier selection,  and   3. Customers can enter quantities for a multiplier selection.    The combination of these 3 features is perfect.

So for example,  you create a single item for each flavor, Red Velvet,  Carrot Cake., etc   You can then create a multiplier set called Dozen box and select the ITEMS Red Velvet, Carrot cake,  This way,  when "red velvet' the item is out of stock or marked out of stock, it is also removed from every multiplier set the item was assigned to.     Customers can also enter multiple qtys for a multiplier selection and you can modify the cost for each multiplier selection.

Thanks for keeping us updated, @_Violet! I know a lot of sellers for whom this feature would be a *great* addition to Square functionality so I'm glad it's on the product team's radar.

@tranguyenI see you've replied to many others about this but wanted to throw my hat in the ring. This one piece of functionality may tip me over to moving and paying for someone like Lightspeed or equivalent. This is very basic and the workaround don't work for many businesses.

 

We run a bagel shop and have half dozens, dozens, types of schmear, types of extras that ideally could all be selected multiple times.

 

To create different "options" for each permutation of a dozen bagels with four different flavours would be absurd.

 

Please implement this request!

We are an ice cream shop and not having the ability select the same modifier twice is presenting a huge problem for us.  It's almost making the platform unusable.  This seems like a basic feature and the fact that this thread is 4 years old and the latest response was just 4 weeks ago is crazy.  Is there any update on when this will get fixed?

I want to jump in on this too! This seems like a pretty basic functionality that a lot of your customers need, please make this happen! We are losing money and efficiency. The lack of this feature has actually forced us to start shopping around for other POS systems.

C'mon Square, please sort, this has dragged on to long. If your not going to do, put us out of our misery so we can start building a fuctioning model elsewhere!

I'm with both of you.  So many other POS's have this functionality so its not an outrageous request.   This needs to be addressed! Also more people need to chime in on this to actually get Square's attention, because 4 years and this request and this still isn't a function yet? 

 

@_Violet  and @tranguyen can you two pester the higher ups to get this going?  The "work arounds" are unacceptable and the loss in efficiency and valuable sales data is astonishing.
