Has there been an update to the Square retail app or gonna be in the future to add a store credit to a customers profile on it? It would so be helpful.
Trying to give a customer a complementary $25 for hardships. I have the Advanced Accounting so I can use gift cards. I would like to use a 100% discount promo code to pay for this gift card but the only option is Paypal or Stripe. How can I give a customer store credit??

No money may change hands but the discount work around means you collect less sales tax.
For example, assuming 7% sales tax, if someone has $10 in credit and buys $20 of goods then any discount that gets the amount due to $10 fails to collect $1.40 in sales tax. (It will only collect $0.70.)
Another workaround that we have been using is to send the customer a coupon for what they prepaid - we use this for a Frequent Visitor program we use where if a customer pre-purchases 10 visits they get a savings of of 20% off per visit. The only restriction is rather than send one coupon for $XX I have to split up into 10 coupons for $XX as a coupon can only be redeemed one time - it would be nice to be able to store credit for those clients
