This is something that would be integral to our business as well. Our vendors frequently offer order specials, and right now we have to individually adjust the cost on every item on a PO to account for it. Seems like this would be an easy fix?
One would think so since the ability to add a shipping cost that is broken out over all items on a PO already exists. Should simply be a matter of adding another button that’s called discount so that it minuses whatever percentage is entered off each item in PO
Has there been any progress on enabling this feature? This is really important to a lot of retailers, I know.
We have about 188 vendors and 21k items. Every week, at least one of our 15-20 purchase orders/receiving vouchers has some of $$ off a tiered value order or a flat percentage discount of some kind on it.
There is no way our bookkeeper is going to know which received PO's need to be paid at a discounted rate and I can assure you that if we overpay our distributors, it will take quite some time to track it down and get them to 'locate' our credits and then they would probably just appear as another "discount" as applied to a PO and exacerbate the whole cycle.
Even if you would just allow for a negative value in your 'Fee' field for now that we could use as a work around...Pleeeeeaaaassse??????
Hard to believe that this has been a request since 2018 that's still not available. It seems like it would be a super-simple addition. I'm wrestling with a discounted PO today that's making me crazy because IT. WILL. NOT. total out correctly, so I thought I'd look to see if this was already a request--and it turns out it's not only a request, but I commented on it a year ago!
I echo others' comments about allowing for a negative amount/percentage in the "fee" section, and to "spread" those fees proportionately across items rather than per item.
Another useful and related feature for me would be to be able to "return" items to the vendor by way of a negative quantity on a PO. For example, a line of greeting cards that I carry will credit me back for shopworn items when I place a new order. It would be ideal to be able to subtract these items from my inventory in the PO, rather than removing them manually from my inventory and then discounting the new items that come in (which I currently do now, and which circles us back around to PO discount issue).
And don't even get me started on case prices that don't divide evenly for the individual items. Oy...
