Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.) 

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

Is this still how you are working around this issue in Square appointments? I wondered - we have repeating events every week - can you set an event as repeating or do you have to go in and set it up each time?

I'm hosting a series of seminars that take place at specific times and have limtied space. I do I set up Square appintments so multiple people (say 15) could book a 5:00 session, and then a different 15 or so could book a 6:30 session?

If you're looking to book group appointments or classes, I recommend checking out Schedulicity. This integration is great for group bookings or classes. Square Appointments doesn't support group booking right now.

I'm currently using the Acuity workaround. It seems to me that Square up isn't allowing group classes becasue they make more money going through a third party with each sale. They make WAY TOO MUCH MONEY doing it this way: they take 2.9% and an additional  $.30 cents per transaction. If they create a group class feature each charge would only render 2.75% and they'd make far less money.

They are being greedy and it's not fair. We have asked for this feature for OVER THREE YEARS.

Any update on classes/increasing the max participant per appointment? 

Huge market of captive users that are disatisfied with Mindbody and other studio softwares. Seems like a quick fix to increase the number of participants per appointment and add a class functionality. Add this functionality so that new users can benefit from Square's best in class payment processing, rather than being forced to use competitor's inferior products.

Just adding my name to this list. If Square added classes and increased appointment capacity (see acuity scheduling), our company would switch over and generate $14-$15k in annual revenue for square. In talking with others in the fitness industry, I'm sure there are thousands of small and medium sized companies that would make this a financial no-brainer for Square. 

We're captive users with other software, because of this one functionality that's missing from Square Appointments.

Unfortunately we are in the same boat. We have a series of weekly repeating classes and need to set up a new event/ticket for each class, every week.

I did notice that you can pre-create tickets/events and "show them" on your online store when ready. This helps to prepare yourself when you have down time, and be able to readily go live with the event when the time comes. I say this because I only post our 4 weekly events, the week of, because the online store seems to crowd quickly with event options. I wish there were a better way to display the events in the online store, for example, if there were a calendar to view or "type of class" folders or something of that sort? For example, every Saturday there are pitching, hitting and S&C Baseball Training Clinics. (10,11,12PM). Right now our store looks like this... https://squareup.com/store/downtown-academy

can square be used to create a monthly schedule of fitness classes for my studio that clients can book on line?
