Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.) 

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

I offer packages for my massage business. Clients are able to purchase multiple sessions at a discounted rate. I would love a feature that would integrate this purchase into Appointments and keep track of how many sessions the client has left. Is this a feature that is being considered? Could it be a considered feature?

This is definitely a great idea that has come up from time to time.  Unfortunately, that is where it currently stands as just a feature request right now.  But hopefully someday will be implemented.

Well, I use square and I've got it all set up, but I just found out I can't use it for my main bread and butter which is classes. I've wasted a lot of precious time setting it all up. This is totally disappointing. If I can't book workshops and classes, then I guess I cant utilize the app for booking apoointments. Super lame.

I teach classes and this would help me tremendously I currently use 3 different platforms to get everything done.  I’d gladly pay more to Square to have all in one place.

Hi @Devon ~ I am writing to add myself to the list of requests for a class scheduler feature on Square Appointments in the hopes that more requests force you to prioritize this feature. I absolutely love the Square system, it has helped me grow from a solo yoga teacher to now having a studio with classes and multiple instructors. Unfortunately, I cannot continue to use Square now that my business has grown and I am going to have to delete my account and switch to MindBody. I absolutely HATE that I have to do this because I’ve worked at other studios who have used MindBody and it is a horrible system and totally not user friendly....but right now it’s either that or continue this crazy process right now where clients are texting me all day to book classes. I really really wish this had been something that Square had prioritized sooner so I don’t have to delete my account and take my successful business away from you. Thank you for helping me get started but I cannot continue with Square anymore.

Being that I run a dance studio with various classes this would also be an asset to have within the Square Appointments system. We have a few fitness classes but many various dance classes and it makes using the square system as our primary software difficult because of this lacking feature. I have talked with many other cheer and dance studio owners and all of them agree that we wouldn’t use systems like Mind&Body, Jackrabbit, or iClass Pro if Square would add this ‘simple’ (and i use that word lightly because I’m sure it’s not that simple) feature. Now granted these other systems have ‘Student/family’ profile capabilities that Square doesn’t have right now but that is a minor miss compared to being about to schedule classes.

So, to piggyback off some of the other posts the amount of revenue you guys are missing out on for not prioritizing is huge — FITNESS, DANCE and CHEERLEADING. These are major money making industries.

I have a music school and this would really help us too. We have bands, group classes, private lessons, a store... I've tried so many different platforms over 12 years, and SQUARE is my favorite. ❤️ If there was a way to schedlue classes, have family accounts, track attendance linked with packaged payments (ex: 4 classes purchased and the calendar counts down the paid visits) that would be AMAZING! Right now I use 5 different platforms to acomplish everything at my school. It's crazy, but it's becasue this one has that and that one has this... I know this is a huge need for the growing music school community as well. Thanks for listening. 😊
