Feature Request: Use Square Appointments on the Square Terminal

I just ordered a square terminal and now I’m rethinking it after some reading... I want to check out my clients and be able to keep track of sales and clients payment history but now I see I can’t use square appointments on the square terminal. I see you can open a ticket to sync but how do i add my client to that ticket that is on my schedule to check out?

I moved your post to our Square Appointments Feature Request board. 

Right now, this isn't available for the Terminal. There isn't a timeline currently, for its implementation. Keep an eye out for an announcement for this feature update!

In the meantime, as a workaround, open tickets do sync between the Appointments app and Square Terminal. This means you could create a ticket from the Appointments app, open the same ticket on Square Terminal and tap Charge to complete the payment.

I would like if Square terminal was integrated with Square appointments.  It would be convenient to only have to use one device. Please make this happen it would be a total game changer.

Why doesn’t Square Terminal work with appointments yet? Just purchased Terminal thinking it would all work together. So frustrating. Returning it & guess I have to waste $50 on a new chip reader. Please square FIX this!

Sorry to hear about the frustrations, @Shedspa - at this time, the Square Appointments app is available on iPhones and iPads running the most recent version of iOS. That means you would be able to run Square Appointments using a Square Stand, or a Square contactless/magstripe reader. Square Appointments is not available on the Square Terminal or Square Register at this time.

I'm new to using Square Appointments and processing transactions. I'm planning to purchase the Square stand with the printer, chip/magnet reader, ipad, and cash drawer. If we are checking out via Appointments and customer is paying cash, will that connect to and open the drawer door or do you have to do this via the Square POS app to open cash drawer?

Yes, the drawer will open with each cash sale using the Appointments app, as long as a cash drawer is configured properly. Furthermore If you want to track the activity of a drawer session (cash sales, cash refunds, pay ins/outs, expected drawer amt), enable Cash Management in Settings.

How to sign up feature for calendar(appointment) in terminal ?

Hi! It’s awesome that Square is working to solve this problem but in the mean time, what is the solution right now?

Square must have considered this before they launched the product, right? What was their idea at that time? I can’t see such a forward thinking company just saying “we’ll figure it out later”...especially since they are so big on the ability to take payments AND offer scheduling.

Can you “check out” on your phone (the appointment),  have them pay on the terminal, and then type in the amount that was paid and save it to their profile in the appointment, and then have an receipt texted or emailed from the appointment? Is that a possibility? Like can you fake manual check out on your phone and then real check out on your terminal?

I just would love to explore other solutions to this problem....

I know this has been talked about before, but it would be really nice if Square Terminal was able to have appointment options. Mainly, able to checkout the appointments I have on the list. To be able to run appointments fully (have full access to the app being on the terminal) that would be a plus too. But that way I wouldn’t have to put in what they are getting every time I checkout. The Square Appointments compatibility with Square Terminal is a long-standing Feature Request that we are tracking on this thread here. I've gone ahead and merged your post into this same existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for this feature to come into fruition.
