How can I verify my Weebly domain with Instagram?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Verify domain for Instagram]

Hi there,

I tried weebly trough Square, first of all I created a free account to configure all my online store and integrated with facebook and instagram, when instagram asked me to verify domain it showed me a weebly sub domain, so I upgraded my Square account to professional to verify my own domain, I did it and it is working, but when I try to verify my domain on instagram is still showing me the same weebly sub domain, on facebook is verify already but I don't know how to update it on instagram.. can you help me with this issue please? thank you

Hey @sugarislandnc!

If you are having trouble using the right domain with Instagram, head over to your Facebook Business Manager to verify the domain with Facebook. For additional help you can also view this video:

Hi @dyedbylindsay. The address your online store is using right now is a square.site subdomain. You can definitely use your Google domain with the site once you've upgraded the site to a paid plan. See our help article on connecting a domain to Square Online for instructions. With Google domains it's pretty simple to do.

Hi Adam. I understand that but for some unknown reason I'm being asked by Instagram to verify a Weebly domain...I do not know how to do this so it is preventing me from selling on Instagram...

I've been having trouble with Instagram Shopping for several months now.  Weirdly enough, Facebook Shopping works just fine.  Filed a support claim with FB with no resolution as of yet.  Still working through them, but since I'm not getting a resolution I wanted to reach out here.

This issue started when I was having considerable trouble with my first Square Online Store back in September.  Items were randomly disappearing as they were being viewed online, and the page would start scrolling up and down randomly.  It was causing severe customer discontent.  FB and IG shopping worked just fine prior to this.

I resolved this by creating a new Online Store with a different domain and unpublished the old one.  However, now the new domain will not verify with Instagram Shopping.   The weird thing is that Facebook Shopping works just fine, just not IG.

I have added the Meta Tag (provided in FB Business Suite) in my Square Online Integrations tab and it is visible in the header of my page.  However, the domain will not verify.  Verification continues to fail.

It would be nice to be able to use IG Shopping again.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I have tried and tried to get help from someone to resolve this same issue but as of yet I've received nothing... I'm new to all this and it's difficult to understand exactly what I'm supposed to do...

HI,

Thanks for your response.  I have gone through these steps, and am still having difficulty with verification.  I have added the Meta Tag, provided by FB in Business Settings, to my Square store page using the Integrations tab.

I have viewed the code of my Square Online Store, and can see the Meta Tag is there in the head.

However, when I tried to verify the domain in FB I keep getting an error message saying something went wrong.

I have reached out to both Weebly and FB Business Support but still cannot seem to get any resolution.  Any further advice would be appreciated!

(It is interesting to note, I do not have difficult verifying domains with FB that are not weebly/square sites....)

UPDATE - Everything is working now.  I didn't do anything...  other than remove the meta tags and wait about 2 weeks before trying again.  Then it worked finally.  I suspect Facebook did something on their end after my multiple support requests...

Thanks for all the assistance everyone!

I made an Instagram store a while back, and the first product I listed was on a friend's online store, and I linked the product it to his domain. I've since added a number of products from my own online store, and even changed the link to the product on his store to a page on my store. But my Instagram store has since stopped listing all my other products, and won't let me tag them, and all of them appear as "not available" when I go to manage products. When I try to add them from the manage products page, I get an error message: "an unknown error has occurred." About every tenth time I try to click the three dots by a product, the edit/delete product button appears at the bottom. When I try to save a product that has a link to my store, it says "Website link is invalid. Enter a website that matches your verified domain: [my friend's domain." I already went to my business settings and added my domain as a verified domain, and it is indeed marked as verified. His domain was never on that list of verified domains to begin with. I can't for the life of me figure out where his still listed anywhere. Any idea how to remove his domain as a verified domain or where it might be hiding so I can change it to mine?

Hi @ashc ,

I had already searched for the question first and didn't find an answer, and this wasn't actually an answer to my question. I had already verified my domain, and that domain was the only domain on the list of verified domains (as depicted in this answer), but Instagram was still giving me an error message of "Website link is invalid. Enter a website that matches your verified domain: [my friend's domain]" when I tried to add products from my store.

In the meantime, I figured out a partial solution. A few how-to blogs and earlier answers I found showed that there was another place where sellers added a website, in Settings > Business > Shopping > Website. This has either moved or is different on Professional accounts. Instead, I went to the blue Professional Dashboard link at the top of my profile, then Instagram Shopping > Manage Your Shop: Edit Website and updated the website there. After half a day, some of my products are now live. Others still give me the "An unknown error has occurred" message when I try to add them.
