Redeeming Reward not possible on Square Register

We enable the Loyalty program but we trying to redeem the rewards via the Square  Register ...it is not possible.  Support said this is not possible.  Really?  A Square Hardware with such limitation. 

Have to revert back to the Square App for redemption.   Anyone know how to get this done on the Square Register?

that's strange- we redeem rewards at the register running Square for Retail. All we need to do is make sure that the item is in the cart?
