How to add discount code for services and share with QR Code?

Hi,

My business is strictly service based, and I would like to add a discount code that I can share as a QR code. I found how to do this with the "items", however customers cannot book through appointments if I make my services "items".

Also when I created a discount that automatically applies to my services, it does not appear to be working on my website. The back end says that it is there and will be automatically applied to my services, but when I check on the website, the discount does not show up upon checkout. 

How do I resolve these issues?

At this time Automatic Discounts only apply to our Point Sale Applications (Square POS and Square Appointments).
