Postal code for online terminal is back in Canada?

In the past, I was happy that "Square" removed the ask of postal code in Canada when you use the virtual terminal. You have the CVV code anyway so the customer have the card in hand so why bother!

 

Removing the ask of postal code make the experience smoother. It also has accelerated the taking of telephone orders

 

Since customers don't always have postal codes, or aren't certain which postal code is on file with their card-issuing bank, I want a simple process. Since 2016, we did not have any charge back or fraud case with the use of virtual terminal.

 

Are Square going to implant that permatenly? If the reason it to lower the fraud, are they going to lower the fee in that case?

 

Every week we are approached by payment companies asking us to try their payment service instead of Square. I'm more of the type to keep something as long as it works so I'd like to get an idea of the "Square" plan.
