Item weight in ounces

When adding item weights in Square Online, we need to be able to list item weights in ounces, instead of just pounds. It creates inaccuracies and is cumbersome to have to convert ounces into decimals of a pound. For lighter-weight items like paper goods, and stickers, it's really inconvenient to be unable to list item weights in ounces.

I agree with this. I ship items that are all way less than a pound (trading cards) and would like to have the weight in ounces already instead of having to convert to pounds.

Agree.  I ship many things weighing less than 3 ounces. Shipping should be around 3.85 here in the States.

I've been looking around the square dashboard. Click on home on the top left (I'm on desktop) then when the menu pops up click on items and you should automatically be at your item list. There is an option on the left labeled units where you can add a custom unit like ounces. I've yet to see that custom unit "interact" with any of my items though. If a mod could reply with where exactly the custom unit plugs in with our items that would be awesome.

Very sorry for any confusion. This feature is not available with Square Online website items. 

If your business needs to sell items by weight, you can create items with weight-based units and connect a compatible scale to start selling with the Square app. This would be for in-person sales, and not online transactions through your website.

Community Moderators provide Seller feedback to the teams. Feature requests are also submitted from our customer support reps, as well as Square employees. 

Feature requests are prioritized by the product managers based on feedback from the aforementioned sources, and by overall volume of affected sellers. 

I'm more than happy to bubble up your feedback regarding item weight in ounces for Square Online, but am unable to provide any sort of ETA at the moment. We will definitely make sure to update this thread if we receive any sort of update, though. 😊

@BernadetteA  Is there a list or a thread started by the Square team that shows what you guys are currently working on? I'm curious, as I'm sure others are, to see what requests are coming out in the pipeline.

I apologize in advance that I don't have an ETA to provide, however, I do believe this is something we are working on for the Seller Community! I'll have to check with my team next week to see where we are with the progress on this.
