Hi all,
we only use our square readers/stands once every few months for specials events Yesterday we set them up for the weekend. We have fully updated the ipads we use to IOS 15 and the square POS app has been updated.
when running through transactions we started encountering a weird issue. Any transaction above $100 if paid by paywave using from what we could work out a visa card would cause the square pos app to freeze up. Ended up having to go back to the home screen in the ipad and back into the square pos app. This would โrefreshโ the screen and we then would cancel the payment and recharge.
Inserting the card in the reader worked fine for processing the payment no matter the $ amount
any transactions below $100 would go through fine on contactless irrespective of the card
we tested an American express card for a $100+ sale and paywave worked fine
is anyone having the same type of issue?

I'd love to look into your transactions further, but unfortunately this isn't something we're able to investigate further via our Seller Community forum. I recommend getting in touch with our support team for further help, as they may need to file a bug so our engineering team can look into it further. While some payment cards may not allow payments over $100 to be paid via paywave, this should generally not cause your app to freeze.
