Assigning Appointments to Rooms as well as Staff

This topic comes up from time to time and I would like to give others out there a chance to "Me Too" this feature request.

 

Problem: Spa or Massage business that need to manage ROOMS as well as staff to make sure rooms are not double booked.

 

Solution: Create an optional drop down menu in the Create Appointment window that shows only available rooms. The rooms would also have to be linked to servies. For example, Room A is available for Sweedish Massage and Hot Stone Massage but not for Infraed Light Therapy.

 

 

What's in it for Square: Lots of new customers. Square does so many things right and these scheduling features are really hard to find. It would be a massive coup!

We announced the implementation of resource management in a product update post here, but I wanted to be sure that everyone who had initially requested this capability has seen the announcement!

 

You can now create resources such as spa rooms, chairs, tables, etc. and assign them to services! 🎉 Learn all about how to get started with this feature by heading over to this article where we tell you everything you'll need to know.

I would like to chime in on this as well. This addition would be a HUGE improvement for me and my spa. Right now we have to manually manage this, and as my business grows and I take on more staff, it becomes much more time consuming and complicated. 

 

Really, instead of calling it Rooms, maybe just resource or equipment management. I also have expensive equipment that is used for specific services where two people can do that service, but we can only do one at a time because of the equipment. Rooms could be considered "equipment" as well.

Has this been updated?  Is there an option for this now?  I'm THIS close to cancelling booker and switching to square appointments, but cannot seem to figure out if room/equipment selection is available.  This could be make or break...

I own a small skin care shop and we currently use Vagaro. I would like to come back to square for the simplicity and continuity, but one thing we really need that vagaro has is resources. 

For example our shop only has one Spray Tan Booth. So when it's in use, I need that service to deem that resource "unavailable" so I dont have 3 employees get booked for a tan at the same time. Does that make sense? They may all have availability, but if the resource isnt' available I need it to block booking. We have a few resources that can only be used exclusively by one person at a time: LED Light Therapy Machine, Microderm Machine, Tan Booth, Hydroderm machine. Our business only has one each of these things and I need to be able to accommodate for that in booking. Does square have anything like that? Am I not going to be able to move my business over?

I went ahead and reached out to a Square Appointments specialist. They read your post, and I asked them if we would be able to meet your needs. They said that the feature (Resource Management) you're referring to isn't currently available, however, they plan on launching it in the near future! They couldn't provide an exact launch date, but it looks like down the road Square Appointments would be a good fit for you.

same boat, coming back post covid i am downsizing our practice considerably and need to cut costs ie booker, but i need room management!! already switching to square for payment processing and wld like to just rip the band aid and dump booker altogether. please get this feature!

We have similar requirements, but some of our resources are self-service and do not require staff.  Is there a way (from the calendar view) that we can see the resources calendar, alongside the staff calendars? Or if they are using a Self-Service can they see the resources available?

 

We have customers call and ask for "next available on resource X." I don't know how to quickly answer that question.
