Hi Seller Community!

 

Here we are in the middle of December - 2021 certainly flies by! As we get ready for the festive season, we want to take this time to review feature requests and product launches from the second half of the year.

Let’s look at what has been rolled out!

 

Square for Restaurants

 

🍽️ Mark an Item as Sold Out with Square, and 86 Items with Square for Restaurants

You can now mark an item as Sold Out (or 86-ing) an item from your Square Point of Sale app, Square for Restaura.... This will prevent it from being sold online and team members will see a warning before adding it to tickets in-house. 

 

🖨 Prioritising Tickets, Item Recall & Highlighted Modifiers on KDS

We’ve added several new features to Square KDS, including: print order tickets from KDS, prioritising tickets, recalling specific items within tickets, and highlighting modifiers and variations! Read more about these features in the Seller Community

🧾 Open Tabs for Self Serve Orderings

Starting from now, you can enable Open Tabs for self-serve ordering, which allows your customers to open a tab and continue adding items to their existing bill and only close the tab at the end of their visit. Read more about this new feature

 

🖼️ Customer reviews with images

Your customers can now add images along with their product reviews, making reviews more powerful for shoppers. Reviews are available on the Performance and Premium plans.

 

📍 Location-specific item modifiers

Assign different modifiers to an item depending on its location. Now you don't need to create multiple copies of the same item for each location.

 

🍪 Cookie consent management

Remain compliant with your local consumer data privacy laws using our updated cookie consent management module.

 

📦 Item-level shipping rates

You can now set up custom shipping profiles to create special shipping rates for specific items.

 

📷 Square’s Photo Studio App

With the new stand alone Photo Studio by Square app, you can easily take professional-looking product photos, save it to your phone or upload it to your Square’s Item Library with just a few clicks!

 

Square Appointments

 

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Multi-staff appointment scheduling

We want to create a better booking experience with this update, allowing customers to book multiple employees on a single appointment via a single transaction, with tips automatically and proportionately split. Read more in our Product Update

 

📅 Find a time when Creating and Editing your Appointments on Square Dashboard

This new feature lets you check your availability all in one place on your Appointments Dashboard to help avoid any accidental double bookings and allow you to find a time that works for you and your customer. See the changes in action here

🎁 Introducing Square Loyalty

Square Loyalty, an integrated digital rewards programme that you can run directly from Square Point of Sale — without any additional software, hardware, or punch cards is now available in the UK!

 

📮 Grow Your Business with Square’s Email Marketing Software

You can now design, send custom emails and set up automated campaigns directly from your Square account with Square Marketing. Learn more about it in our Product Update

 

 

Square for Retail

 

🏷️ Auto-generate SKUs with Square for Retail

With Square for Retail, you can now automatically generate unique SKUs when you add a new item variation OR create a new barcode label. Find out how you can start using this feature in our Support Centre

 

 

Square Gift Cards: 

 

💳 Sell digital eGift Cards in bulk!

Just in time for the festive season, now your customers can purchase multiple digital eGift Cards at one time through your online eGift Card order site. 

 

💻 Reload gift cards online

Need to add more funds to their eGift Cards? Customers can now reload their existing gift cards online through your online Square Gift Card order site. 

 

 

Hardware

 

📲 Connect your Terminal to your Square Point of Sale

You can now wirelessly connect your Square Terminal to your Square Point of Sale app on a Square Stand, iPad, tablet or mobile device for a dedicated customer display and checkout device!
