Terminal Connection Unreliable

I have 2 handhelds for my restaurant and they work perfectly... when they stay connected. I have tried everything from restarts to resets and even bought a top of the line Wi-Fi mesh extender but the terminals keep losing connection almost every 5 mins. It's not the Wi-Fi either. We are on a secure network with little congestion and all other connections remain stable with no interruption or issue. It's a big problem when the terminals drop connections during a busy service as they don't send the tickets back to our KDS and our front of house doesn't have time to run back every ticket.
Please help!

@GinaB  we experience the same issue with one of the two handhelds we use on a consistent basis.

Part of me is glad to hear it's not just me but the other part of me is thinking "uh oh this isn't good, for as much as they cost this should not be happening at all to anyone".

At the start of the week a performed a factory reset on our handhelds. So far we haven't had any issues with connection this week! *fingerscrosssed
