I would like to propose to Square that it allow setting prep time for pickup & delivery via API. Currently, we can do that manually either through the Web dashboard or via the Square for Restaurants POS 'Orders' screen. To be clear, I am referring to the changes from this UI component (the Web component is shown):
However, my on-site staff is facing issues managing this manually. Sometimes they set it far out and forget to set it back, resulting in unhappy customers and lost sales. I would like to see if we can monitor the value and automate the time changes via API.
Since the Web and iOS POS client app can do it, I would think this is just a matter of Square opening up the same/equivalent API for external developers to use. It would for sure require some engineering work, but the ask is IMO lighter than a brand-new business functionality ask.
