Loyalty program potential refund loophole?

Does Square provide any protection against customers using the loyalty program to get free products through rewards?

 

Our loyalty program gives points for amount spent ($15 store voucher for every $100 spent).

 

Is there anything that protects against a customer buying $100 of products, gaining the $15 voucher, spending the %15 in store and then refunding the original $100 products? This would leave them with free items from the store.

I was able to work with one of our Loyalty advocates on this one to get the most recent information. Right now, this is not available and would be a Feature Request for the Product Team. 

 

There is a small workaround you could try, but you would have to manually adjust the customer's points if you notice large refunds or abuse of your Loyalty program.
