Repeat Payment Errors

We are very busy at our grand opening today  The square register keeps giving a Payment Error (Transaction Failed) and Prompts customer to reinsert card.  We keep having to restart the register.  The internet seems to be working fine, what else could it be?

Sorry for the trouble you were having at the grand opening. That sounds frustrating.

 

The only thing I could think of is that the internet was going out since the internet is required for it to read the chipped cards.
