We have been using Square Terminals for our cash and credit processing, however when we have intermission and business picks up the Square cannot keep up with the sales and credit card processing slows way down. We stopped ringing our cash sales through the terminal and that has helped a little. Has anyone had the same issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

How do you access the internet - through your own network or over a public wifi connection? If it's via public wifi, it may simply be that when you have your intermission, everyone at your venue is trying to use the same system at the same time, and it can't keep up with the demand.
If you have cellular service and enough capacity, you could try switching some of your devices to cell service to see if that helps during high-usage times.
