How to exclude a customer segment when sending marketing emails?

I've been using square marketing for about a month now. I have a welcome automation set up and I want to exclude new customers from any general email campaigns I create, as I don't want to interfere with the welcome sequence.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible? It seems like such a core feature but I can't seem to figure it out.

Hi hi @goodtradeco - and welcome to the Seller Community🎉

There is not currently a built-in "new customer" group, but you can filter your Customer Directory to find out who has only had one visit. It is also not possible to exclude customers from an email marketing campaign. If you would like to exclude certain customers from being included in an email marketing campaign, you will instead need to create a group of customers who you do want to be included in the email marketing campaign.

We recommend creating a group of the people you would like to reach on your Customer Directory page
All Customers >  + Create new group

When creating a new campaign, and you arrive at the Select Audience page, you would select the group you manually created.
