If Canadian duties and taxes are assessed, Canadian Postal Carriers collect them upon delivery, plus an additional $9.95 surcharge. Some recipients simply decide the taxes and fees are too high and refuse delivery. A package may also be held up in Customs, requiring your customer to pay duties and taxes before picking up their package.

- When shipping a First Class Mail International (FCMI) package to Canada in the Stamps.com Online Mail Tab, open the Duties/Taxes drop down menu and select Prepay Duties and Taxes. The low flat fee will be added to your postage cost.
- Print your shipping label and send your package. There is nothing else you need to do.
