Footer / header

Generally, what information to people put in their Footer and or header?  Is it helpful for Search Engines to find my

website if I have something in the Footer or header or doesn't this have anything to do with helping Search Engines find me? I have been reading stuff on headers and footers but it makes no sense to me. What do I put in them?

OK, great - I set up a Nice looking footer with links to internal pages. That link you sent was real helpful but I didn't see anything about setting up the "Header", any thoughts for me on doing that?

no thoughts on a header.... i dt have, not even a footer...

i have my site as i want  but Google screws with me by not indexing my pages...

If Google determines header/footer links were added to help users navigate your website, they are considered a positive item and Google will crawl those links. If these links are added strictly for SEO purposes, this will be seen as a negative in the eyes of Google and certainly something you want to avoid.
I generally follow kuware.com for Marketing concepts. Hope this helps.
