Who are you?

I am Wences Garcia, CEO, Co-Founder and Head of Culture at MarketGoo. It all sounds quite important and powerful, but basically my role is to make sure our team is happy and contribute with resources and leadership to the company.

What is MarketGoo’s mission?

In a nutshell, our mission is to make SEO easy for Small Businesses. We aim to help SMBs grow their businesses by providing easy SEO tools to increase their traffic and rank higher in search engines.

What are MarketGoo’s values?

Our Company Values:

Don't Stop: We are brave and aspire to get to the top with radical honesty and persistence.
K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid!): We love making complex things simple.
Wealth of Wisdom: We seek wisdom growth as a team & individually.
Working on a Dream: We have a spirit of collaboration. We act as a diverse group with a common goal.
Rock on: Good vibes and positive attitude. We are here for the fun!

Our Product Values:

Simplicity: Designed with ease of use in mind.

Friendliness: Adapted to non-technical users with an engaging interface.

Accessibility: Democratizes access to digital strategies that were previously only available to large firms.

What is MarketGoo in relation to Weebly? What do you offer Weebly users? How did you start your relationship with Weebly?

Our aim is to help small businesses grow their businesses online. Weebly’s got the web presence thing covered, and we provide SEO solutions for these websites to be found. Both companies share the same product values. Being part of Weebly's marketplace for over two years, I think it makes a lot of sense to provide a one-stop-shop for these small businesses instead of making them use different providers. Also, the technological synergies we've built together are looking to make our customers' life better, and we have more surprises in the works!

How did MarketGoo get started?

MarketGoo is the result of the experience of our co-founders helping SMBs in the hosting space and running an online marketing agency. As a result of the technology we created to run the agency efficiently and our previous experience in the web presence market, we decided to create an app to empower users to improve their SEO without technical knowledge. The challenge was to make it simple and easy to use. Four years later, we have hundreds of thousands of users worldwide using our apps on a daily basis.

Tell us the best time and hardest time you’ve had while growing MarketGoo to the point is is at today.

We are a bootstrapped company, like most SMBs, but in the software world, running and scaling such a complex project can be very hard. We used lots of personal resources and time to build MarketGoo the way we wanted. Being bootstrapped help us to create and nurture a special company culture where all the team is aligned with the long term objectives and we all feel we are part of it.

Where do you expect to see MarketGoo in the next few years?

I definitely see us growing our userbase significantly and continuing our successful relationship with Weebly and our other Partners worldwide. Now, all our focus is on our mission. We want to continue creating the most valuable experience for our users and we truly want to make their lives better.

What’s one specific piece of advice you have for fellow entrepreneurs?

You are not alone. All those fears, and ups and downs are something we all go through. I felt it was very helpful to exchange experiences with fellow entrepreneurs, something like a support group! Look for a purpose and follow it, money will come.

Finally, what’s one specific piece of advice you have for Small Businesses regarding their SEO success?

Most SMBs fail to create and publish meaningful content on their websites. Instead, they post it on social networks, which ultimately is content they cannot control and has limited visibility. Create at least one relevant article talking about your vision every week and you'll contribute to your SEO success. But remember, like any other business, SEO is a marathon. Results don’t happen overnight.
