Square for Restaurants Item Count not pulling through to Square Online

We have fresh baked items every morning, for example, 10 Almond Croissants.

We use the Square Register to enter the item count.

These items are available for people to order online through the website for collection.

However, the website allows people to order more of the item than are available, for example, they could order 15 Almond Croissants.

When I look in the Square Dashboard, 'stock on hand' and 'available to sell' are both blank.

How do we sync the systems up so Square Online does not allow for sales of items we do not have, as pre-ordering high-demand items is the main aim of the online service for us.

Hey @mercuryfrost, thanks for your post and for flagging this issue! Sounds like you may need to update your stock in your Square Online Dashboard.

To manage item stock in Square Online for new and existing items:

  1. From your Square Online Overview page, go to Items > Site Items.
  2. Select an existing item or select Create new item.
  3. Under Options, select a button under the Stock column for the specific variation you’d like to manage stock for.
  4. In the popup window, toggle on Track stock.
  5. If you have stock history enabled, Select a restocking preference to update.
  6. Enter a number to manage the stock and select Update Stock.
  7. Finish all other edits to the item and select Save when finished.

Any stock changes in Square Online will sync to your Square Item Library (and vice versa). Learn more about managing stock in Square Online.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
