Mica Talmor, originally from Israel, grew up in a family that expressed love through food. She attended culinary school in Israel and then went into pastry school at the California Culinary Academy. After graduation, she worked as a pastry chef at Eos in San Francisco and Grasshopper in Oakland. From 2005 to 2018, she operated Savoy Events, a renowned catering company. After that, she opened Ba-Bite in Oakland which received recognition from Food & Wine, Sunset, and KQED's "Check, Please!" In March 2020, Talmor launched Pomella, which combines the finest locally sourced California produce with the authentic flavors of the Middle East, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe.
Salaams (they/them) has a passion for blending food and technology. With experience in bartending, catering, food truck operations, store management, and even running their own focaccia pop-up in Oakland, they've built a strong foundation in the food industry. They merged their dual passions at Pomella, orchestrating a successful Kickstarter campaign, and spearheaded tech, marketing, and e-commerce operations since 2020. They continue this work, offering their dual expertise to several restaurants in the Bay Area and beyond.
