Shopify offers an app for their users which will generate barcodes directly from inventory. It also allows customization of the label. It is called “retail Barcode Labels” and it has been available for some time. Why doesn’t Square offer this to their users too? I love using Square, but I’m really tempted to switch to Shopify because I want to be able to print retail labels (and ultimately scan inventory and sales) without having to manually re-input information or use a third party app which may not work well either..
I understand Square for Retail has a barcode option, but from what I understand, it doesn’t auto-generate barcodes from inventory, plus it costs $60/month...
i would ask someone at Square to check out the Retail Barcode Labels app at Shopify - it is really cool. Can Square please do something similar for us?
