I need to accept a Tip of over $1000? How can I?

I'm running into a rare problem where a customer would like to tip us over the maximum allowed of $1000 (Large catering).  I called square support and customer service didn't offer any kind of work around for the special occasion.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I'm going to ask the customer if they mind splitting the invoice into two parts to allow the combined tip to be what they would like.  Splitting the invoice is not an option.

Work around:

Does your customer feel comfortable with adding it to the catering order? Could you put in an "item" without sales tax of what they would like to give as gratuity so that you can add a portion to the total bill and then they can do the rest?

No, unfortuantely the customer needs to see the final total on the invoice separate from the gratuity.  Not sure why, but that was an issue when I offered that.
