Shipping not added at a checkout

I am setting up my first item and no matter what I do, the shipping doesn't seem to be working.
I have set up the shipping profile with two rates plus a local pick up and when I select Pickup at the checkout it shows the instructions etc.
When I select Shipping, the Checkout shows shipping as $0.00. I would expect that it would show the selection between the two shipping options but it doesn't.

It is doing my head in. Can anyone help?

This one is going to be a little difficult for us to troubleshoot from our forum - we'd need to be able to take a look into how the item and fulfilment options have been set up to pinpoint the issue. The fastest way to get this solved would be to call our support team on 1800 760 137. Lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time - they will be able to look into your account setup to check what the issue might be.

 

Taking a guess though, on the Item listing from the Square Online overview (go to "Items" then click on the item in question), have you selected shipping as a fulfilment option:
