Why does the Square Terminal ($400 to buy) more expensive to process transactions?
I am confused why taking a payment with a $400 hardware device that Square sells, costs more than using the basic devices?? Am I missing something??

both the Square terminal and Square Register operate on slightly different fee models. depending on your average sale the new fees could be smaller or larger, I believe it was at $40 that was the tipping point so that sales after $40 were actually cheaper using the new fee structure.
Square losses a good amount of money per transaction on the sub $10 transactions and this new fee structure is to try to offset that I would assume.
