Inventory: how do restaurants and retail food keep track of damaged, loss, theft inventory?
I have a wine and spirits store with some specialty foods. When the go out of code, I remove them from Inventory (Square for Retail) and assign a reason, "damaged." I need a report that will tell me the inventory value of all that was written off due to damage to enter into Quickbooks as a journal entry.
How do you do it for accounting purposes?
