We’ve rolled out a new feature, offline payments, that enables you to take contactless and Chip + PIN payments on Square Stand and Square Reader when you do not have internet connection. Offline payments are already available on Square Register and Square Terminal, and we are excited for the expansion of this feature!

Allowing offline payments is easy…
In your Square POS app tap More > Settings > Checkout > Offline payments > Allow offline payments.
Once you’ve allowed offline payments, your customers can tap or insert their cards without you being connected to the internet for up to one hour. However, you must reconnect to the internet within 24 hours of the first offline payment to upload transactions taken while offline.
