Feature Request: Report including shipping weights for items on Square Online website

I'm in the process of switching my online store to ship by weight instead of a flat fee based on number of items purchased. Is there a way to run a report to make sure I have a weight on every item in my store?

It sounds like you're basically wanting to make sure that you don't miss any items when you go through all of them to add a weight to each one, right @TYAF?

There isn't a report that you can run within your online store editor that would give you a list of all of your items with their corresponding weights. However, what I'd recommend is exporting your Item Library directly from your Square Dashboard. Once you have that, you can use it as your hard-copy to reference, and check off or cross out each item after you've add a weight to it.

Please, please, please add this column as a filter in the report.  We have hundreds of items and need to know which need updating.  Entering edit mode for each and every one just to find the right ones will take an excessively long time and should be unnecessary.

I would like to download (or even view a list online) of my inventory showing the weights I've entered for shipping/fulfillment to make sure I have the correct weights entered. I don't see a way to do that. Thoughts? Thanks!

I'm also in the process of switching from flat-rate shipping to RTS. Having to enter the weight of items one-by-one is incredibly time-consuming & very frustrating. It's also difficult to keep track of where you've stopped/started when you have to step away to help a customer. Making a bulk-update option available would be a HUGE bonus, especially to those who've upgraded from free to paid plans.

I am looking for this reporting also. In addition to this, is there a way to bulk edit item weights? I have many items and it's become tedious to click and open each item one by one...

Suggestion, create a way to view an item and then arrow to the next item in the inventory list instead of going back to the full list every time.

You do have the ability to bulk edit items on your Square Online Store, however, weight is not one of the item details that can be edited in bulk. You can also utilize the import/export tool in your Square Item Library to make the edits in an Exel file as mentioned, here, by Sayra.

As you stated, the weight is not a supported field in the bulk edit tool. Are there any plans to add more fields to the bulk edit tool? And your suggestion to use Excel to make changes using the import/export method is also very limited in the fields that it allows you to change. It doesn't even work for all of the fields in the sheet, such as Sales Tax.

While we are on the subject of changes to items, Users should also be aware that any name change to an item will cause a split in the sales reporting for that item. (adding/changing/deleting any characters, including spaces) This is true whether the item is changed individually, or if it is changed in Excel. Square needs to change the reporting to use the Token key for each item as the product differentiator, and display the current item name in the report.

There are a lot of very small changes that would greatly improve the day-to-day functionality of the Square system. I wish I was seeing any of them occur!

It is disappointing to see that so many years (since 2020) have gone by without Square adding such a fundamental feature as bulk updating shipping weights and related shipping information to the item library. Please get this feature added. This is huge and incredibly fundamental.

It is not only disappointing but hard to believe that such fundamental tools do not exist. Had I known this before I started to launch the site, I would have changed to another POS like Shopify. I still might. Currently an unusable waste of time and money.

I'm sure these problems will be resolved as soon as you hire a Square Specialist or elevate your business with a professional email address from Google Workspace.
