Help get my brick and motar store online

I currently have a brick and motar store and have never entered any inventory into a POS. I have been in the stone age using paper to take inventory weekly. I want to take our brick and motar store online but don't know how or even where to begin. I know we need a better POS and a bar code scanner but I have no idea on how to even do that. We have always been local and sold local so pen and paper is what we have used. Need help desperately!
