Customer claiming their card can't be run on Square?

I have a potential customer with a potentially large purchase. While discussing methods of payment, the customer said her credit card cannot remit on either Square or PayPal.

Has anyone ever heard of this problem? where Credit Card cannot make a payment on Square?

Unfortunately this is usually a tell-tale sign of buyer fraud.

There's no reason their card would be limited by payment company and they'll usually follow up with something along the lines of wiring money to a third party or something along those lines.

I wouldn't engage with this customer anymore or take their payment without asking to see a photo ID and card to make sure the names match on both. But either way- this isn't a thing.
