We’ve only been using Square Terminal for a week but this has already happened several times:
3 customers come to pay and initially ask to split bill 3 ways. After 1st person has paid, 2nd person says they’ll generously pick up the entire remainder (which has already been split into 2 remaining amounts). Is there a way to merge the 2 remaining splits back to 1 so the person doesn’t have to make 2 transactions?

Unfortunately there isn't a way to "re-merge" split tickets. I know that's not ideal for your customers, and I'm sorry for that. If there's any development from our Product team that makes this easier in the future, we'll let you know!
